Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.

Precious ["costly" 1Kngs 7:10] in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.

Psalm 116:15

Romans 6:8-11 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him: . . . Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Isaiah 53:10,11 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He hath put Him to grief: when Thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: by His knowledge shall My Righteous Servant justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities.

Numbers 23:10 Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the Righteous, and let my last end be like His!

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in Me: and the Life which I now live in the flesh I live by the Faith of the Son of God, Who loved me, and gave Himself for me.

1Peter 2:6-8 Wherefore also it is contained in the Scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a Chief Corner Stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe He is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the Stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the Head of the corner, and a Stone of stumbling, and a Rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the Word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, Who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Psalm 116:15

PSALM 22.
To the chief Musician upon Aijeleth Shahar, A Psalm of David.

My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me? why art Thou so far from helping Me, and from the words of My roaring? O My God, I cry in the daytime, but Thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent. But Thou art holy, O Thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in Thee: they trusted, and Thou didst deliver them. They cried unto Thee, and were delivered: they trusted in Thee, and were not confounded. But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. All they that see Me laugh Me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, He trusted on the LORD that He would deliver Him: let Him deliver Him, seeing He delighted in Him. But Thou art He that took Me out of the womb: Thou didst make Me hope when I was upon My mother's breasts. I was cast upon Thee from the womb: Thou art My God from My mother's belly.

Be not far from Me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help. Many bulls have compassed Me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset Me round. They gaped upon Me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion. I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of My bowels. My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and My tongue cleaveth to My jaws; and Thou hast brought Me into the dust of death. For dogs have compassed Me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed Me: they pierced My hands and My feet. I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon Me. They part My garments among them, and cast lots upon My vesture. But be not Thou far from Me, O LORD: O My strength, haste Thee to help Me. Deliver My soul from the sword; My darling ["thine only" Gen 22:2] from the power of the dog. Save Me from the lion's mouth: for Thou hast heard Me from the horns of the unicorns.

I will declare Thy Name unto My brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise Thee. Ye that fear the LORD, praise Him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify Him; and fear Him, all ye the seed of Israel. For He hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the Afflicted; neither hath He hid His face from Him; but when He cried unto Him, He heard. My praise shall be of Thee in the great congregation: I will pay My vows before them that fear Him. The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek Him: your heart shall live for ever. All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before Thee. For the Kingdom is the LORD's: and He is the Governor among the nations. All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before Him: and none can keep alive his own soul. A Seed shall serve Him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. They shall come, and shall declare His Righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that He hath done this.

Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by Whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

"Jesus the Author and Finisher of our Faith"

Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our Faith;

Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross,

despising the shame,

and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:2

"
the Author"

747 ἀρχηγός [A)RXHGO/S] {archēgós} \ar-khay-gos'\
from 746 and 71; a chief leader:--author, captain, prince.
See Greek 746.
See Greek 71.

Heb 2:10 For it became Him, for Whom are all things, and by Whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the Captain <747> of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Acts 5:31 Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince <747> and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Acts 3:15 And killed the Prince <747> of Life, Whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

"Finisher"

5051 τελειωτής [TELEIWTH/S] {teleiōtḗs} \tel-i-o-tace'\
from 5048; a completer, i.e. consummater:--finisher.
See Greek 5048.

5048 τελειόω [TELEIO/W] {teleióō} \tel-i-o'-o\
from 5046; to complete, i.e. (literally) accomplish, or (figuratively) consummate (in character):--consecrate, finish, fulfil, (make) perfect.

Luke 2:43 And when they had fulfilled <5048> the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

Luke 13:32 And He said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.<5048>

John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish <5048> His work.

John 5:36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given Me to finish <5048>, the same works that I do, bear witness of Me, that the Father hath sent Me.

John 17:4 I have glorified Thee on the earth: I have finished <5048> the work which Thou gavest Me to do.

John 17:23 I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect <5048> in One; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved Me.

John 19:28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled <5048>, saith, I thirst.

Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish <5048> my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

2Cor 12:9 And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect <5048> in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Phil 3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect <5048>: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Heb 2:10 For it became Him, for Whom are all things, and by Whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the Captain of their salvation perfect <5048> through sufferings.

Heb 5:9,10 And being made perfect<5048>, He became the Author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him; called of God an High Priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Heb 7:19 For the Law made nothing perfect <5048>, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

Heb 7:28 For the Law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the Word of the oath, which was since the Law, maketh the Son, Who is consecrated <5048> for evermore.

Heb 9:9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect <5048>, as pertaining to the conscience; . . .

Heb 10:1 For the Law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect <5048> .

Heb 10:14 For by one offering He hath perfected <5048> for ever them that are sanctified.

Heb 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect <5048>

Heb 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the Firstborn, which are written in Heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect <5048>,

Jas 2:22 Seest thou how Faith wrought with his works, and by works was Faith made perfect <5048>?

1John 2:5 But whoso keepeth His Word, in him verily is the love of God perfected <5048>: hereby know we that we are in Him.

1John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected <5048> in us.

1John 4:16-18 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in Love dwelleth in God, and God in Him. Herein is our love made perfect<5048>, that we may have boldness in the Day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in Love; but perfect Love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect <5048> in Love.

"The victory through our Lord Jesus Christ"

1Chronicles 29:11 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the Heaven and in the earth is thine; Thine is the Kingdom, O LORD, and Thou art exalted as Head above all.

Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of His people shall He take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

Matthew 12:18-21 Behold My Servant, Whom I have chosen; My Beloved, in Whom My soul is well pleased: I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear His voice in the streets. A bruised reed shall He not break, and smoking flax shall He not quench, till He send forth judgment unto victory. And in His Name shall the Gentiles trust.

Psalm 98:1-3 O sing unto the LORD a new song; for He hath done marvellous things: His right hand, and His holy arm, hath gotten Him the victory. The LORD hath made known His salvation: His righteousness hath He openly shewed in the sight of the heathen. He hath remembered His mercy and His truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

1Corinthians 15:51-57 Behold, I shew you a Mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the Law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Chronicles 29:11 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the Heaven and in the earth is thine; Thine is the Kingdom, O LORD, and Thou art exalted as Head above all.

PSALM 107

O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good: for His mercy
["lovingkindness" Jer 9:24] endureth for ever.

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; and gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses. And He led them forth by the right Way, that they might go to a City of Habitation.

Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness
["lovingkindness" Jer 9:24], and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

For He satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; because they rebelled against the Words of God, and contemned the Counsel of the most High: therefore He brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness
["lovingkindness" Jer 9:24], and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

For He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saveth them out of their distresses. He sent His Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness
["lovingkindness" Jer 9:24], and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing.

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; these see the works of the LORD, and His wonders in the deep. For He commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. They mount up to the Heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.

Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and He bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so He bringeth them unto their desired Haven.

Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness
["lovingkindness" Jer 9:24], and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

Let them exalt Him also in the congregation of the people, and praise Him in the assembly of the elders.

He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground; a fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein. He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings. And there He maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a City for Habitation; and sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow. He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way. Yet setteth He the poor on High from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock. The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

Whoso is wise, and will observe
these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness [cp. Jer 9:24] of the LORD.

Psalm 40

John 5:39 Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which
testify of Me.

Luke 24:44 And He [the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God] said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the Law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning Me.

PSALM 40.

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined unto Me, and heard My cry. He brought Me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set My feet upon a Rock, [and] established My goings. And He hath put a new song in My mouth, [even] praise unto our God: many shall see [it], and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. Blessed [is] that Man that maketh the LORD His trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Many, O LORD My God, [are] Thy wonderful works [which] Thou hast done, and Thy thoughts [which are] to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto Thee: [if] I would declare and speak of [them], they are more than can be numbered.

Sacrifice and offering Thou didst not desire; Mine ears hast Thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast Thou not required. Then said I, Lo, I come: in the Volume of the Book [it is] written of Me, I delight to do Thy will, O My God: yea, Thy Law [is] within My heart. I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained My lips, O LORD, Thou knowest. I have not hid Thy righteousness within My heart; I have declared Thy faithfulness and Thy salvation: I have not concealed Thy lovingkindness and Thy truth from the great congregation.

Withhold not Thou Thy tender mercies from Me, O LORD: let Thy lovingkindness and Thy truth continually preserve Me. For innumerable evils have compassed Me about: Mine iniquities have taken hold upon Me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of Mine head: therefore My heart faileth Me. Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver Me: O LORD, make haste to help Me. Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after My soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish Me evil. Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto Me, Aha, aha. Let all those that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee: let such as love Thy Salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified. But I [am] poor and needy; yet the LORD thinketh upon Me: Thou [art] My help and My deliverer; make no tarrying, O My God.

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many;

and unto them that look for Him

shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

PSALM 96

O sing unto the
Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth. Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people. For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens. Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. Give unto the Lord, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts. O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.

Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously. Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof. Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice Before the Lord: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.
