Evening devotional

Hear this evening's devotional [Prepared by Jonathan Bagster (1813-1872)]

08.26 Evening:

My cup runneth over.

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him. O fear the Lord, ye His saints: for there is no want to them that fear Him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.―His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.

The Lord is the Portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: Thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.―Whether . . . the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours.―Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all Spiritual blessings in Heavenly places in Christ.

I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.―Godliness with contentment is great gain.―My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

08.26 Evening:

(Psalm 23:5)Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

(Psalm 34:8-10)O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him. O fear the Lord, ye His saints: for there is no want to them that fear Him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.--(Lamentations 3:22,23)It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.

(Psalm 16:5,6)The Lord is the Portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: Thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.--(I Corinthians 3:22)Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;--(Ephesians 1:3)Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all Spiritual blessings in Heavenly places in Christ:

(Philippians 4:11)Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.--(I Timothy 6:6)But godliness with contentment is great gain.--(Philippians 4:19)But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

The Lord is gracious

The Lord is gracious,
and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
(Psalm 145:8)

The Word for the YEAR--
Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Word for the month--
Psalm 25:1,2 Unto Thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in Thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Psalm 25

The Word for the day--
I Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

Hear this morning's devotional [Prepared by Jonathan Bagster (1813-1872)]

08.26 Morning:

Thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE Lord.

Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.―God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.―But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.―I will be sanctified in them that come nigh Me, and before all the people I will be glorified.

This is the Law of the House; upon the top of the Mountain the whole limit thereof round about shall be most Holy.―Holiness becometh Thine House, O Lord, for ever.

For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also might be sanctified through the Truth.―Seeing . . . that we have a Great High Priest, that is passed into the Heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us . . . Come boldly unto the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Ex 28:36 Heb 12:14 Joh 4:24 Isa 64:6 Le 10:3 Eze 43:12 Ps 93:5 Joh 17:19 Heb 4:14,16

And Aaron held his peace.
