"This is the King of the Jews"

And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted His raiment, and cast lots. And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided Him, saying, He saved others; let Him save Himself, if He be Christ, the Chosen of God. And the soldiers also mocked Him, coming to Him, and offering Him vinegar, and saying, If Thou be the King of the Jews, save Thyself. And a superscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew,

THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Luke 23:33-38
Compare--

"THE KING"

I Samuel 8:19,20 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; that we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.
Psalm 44:4-8 Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob. Through Thee will we push down our enemies: through Thy Name will we tread them under that rise up against us. For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. But Thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us. In God we boast all the day long, and praise Thy Name for ever. Selah.

"THE JEWS"

Romans 2:28,29 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: but he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

"THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS"

Colossians 2:10-15 And ye are complete in Him, which is the Head of all principality and power: in Whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the Faith of the operation of God, Who hath raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way,
nailing it to His cross; and having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Proverbs 29:14 The King that faithfully judgeth the poor, His throne shall be established for ever.

"Commendeth"

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth {G4921} His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:6-8

Strongs: G4921 συνιστάω [SUNISTA/W] {synistáō} \soon-is-tah'-o\

Romans 3:5,6 But if our unrighteousness commend {G4921} the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)
God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth {G4921} his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 16:1,2 I commend {G4921} unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: t

II Corinthians 3:1 Do we begin again to commend {G4921} ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?

II Corinthians 4:1,2
Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending {G4921} ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

II Corinthians 5:12 For we commend {G4921} not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

II Corinthians 6:4-10 But in all things approving {G4921} ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, i
n stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; by pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, by honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true; as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed; as sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

II Corinthians 7:11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved {G4921} yourselves to be clear in this matter.

II Corinthians 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend {G4921} themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist {G4921}.

II Peter 3:5-7 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing {G4921} out of the water and in the water:
whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: but the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

The Word for...

For all flesh is as grass,
and all the glory of man as the flower of grass.
The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
but the Word of the Lord endureth for ever.
And this is the Word which by the Gospel is preached unto you.
Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies,
and all evil speakings, as newborn babes,
desire the sincere milk of the Word,
that ye may grow thereby:
if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
(I Peter 1:24-2:3)

The Word for the YEAR--
I Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

The Word for the month--
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

The Word for the day--
Psalm 5:7 But as for me, I will come into Thy House in the multitude of Thy mercy: and in Thy fear will I worship toward Thy Holy Temple.

Hear the entire Psalm--

Psalm 5

To the chief Musician upon Nehiloth, A Psalm of David.

Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing ["lies" Ps 58:3] : the Lord will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue. Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee. But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
