For all flesh is as grass,
and all the glory of man as the flower of grass.
The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
but the Word of the Lord endureth for ever.
And this is the Word which by the Gospel is preached unto you.
Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, as newborn babes,
desire the sincere milk of the Word,
that ye may grow thereby:
if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
(I Peter 1:24-2:3)
The Word for the YEAR--
Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The Word for the month--
Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my Light and my Salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the Strength of my Life; of whom shall I be afraid?
The Word for the day--
Psalm 119:105
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a Light unto my path.
Compare Spiritual with Spiritual (1 Corinthians 2:12-14; John 5:39)--
"Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a Light unto my path."
John 1:1-4 In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.
In Him was Life; and the Life was the Light of men. . . .John 1:14 And
the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His Glory, the Glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Proverbs 6:23,24 For
the commandment is a lamp; and the Law is Light; and reproofs of instruction
are the Way of Life: to keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
Psalm 37:31
The Law of His God is in His heart; none of His steps shall slide.
Psalm 40:8 I delight to do
Thy will, O My God: yea,
Thy Law is within my heart.

John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying,
I am the Light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the Light of Life.
Hebrews 8:10 For this
is the Covenant that I will make with the House of Israel after those days, saith the Lord;
I will put My Laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people:
Psalm 36:7-9 How excellent
is
Thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their
trust under the shadow of Thy wings. They shall be abundantly satisfied
with the fatness of Thy House; and Thou shalt make them drink of the
River of Thy pleasures. For with Thee
is the Fountain of Life:
in Thy Light shall we see Light.
Psalm 27:1
A Psalm of David.
The Lord is my Light and my Salvation; whom shall I fear? the
Lord is the Strength of my Life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Again, the Word for the day--Psalm 119:105
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a Light unto my path.

10.01 Morning:
The Fruit of the Spirit is . . . temperance.
Every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they
do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: but I keep under my body, and bring
it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.
If any
man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Let us not sleep, as
do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the Day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of Faith and Love; and for an helmet, the Hope of Salvation.―Denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that Blessed Hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
