The Lord is gracious,
and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
(Psalm 145:8)
The Word for the YEAR--
Romans 8:35-39
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written, For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things
we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For
I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from
the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. The Word for the month--
Psalm 108:4 For Thy mercy is great above the heavens: and Thy Truth reacheth unto the clouds. The Word for the day--
John 3:13
And no man hath ascended up to Heaven, but He that came down from Heaven, even the Son of man which is in Heaven.Compare Spiritual with Spiritual (1 Corinthians 2:12-14; John 5:39)--"And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from Heaven, even the Son of man which is in Heaven."Psalm 73:25 Whom have I in Heaven but Thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside Thee.Again, the Word for the day--John 3:13
And no man hath ascended up to Heaven, but He that came down from Heaven, even the Son of man which is in Heaven.
Hear this morning's devotional [Prepared by Jonathan Bagster (1813-1872)]06.17 Morning:
In every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.I love the
Lord, because He hath heard my voice
and my supplications. Because He hath inclined His ear unto me, therefore will I call upon
Him as long as I live.
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen
do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.―The Spirit . . . helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.―Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in Heaven.
