Evening Devotional

Hear this evening's devotional [Prepared by Jonathan Bagster (1813-1872)]

04.21 Evening:

Enoch walked with God.

Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Having made peace through the blood of His cross, . . . You, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight.--In Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

If, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His Life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by Whom we have now received the atonement.

Our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

04.21 Evening:

(Genesis 5:22)And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:

(Amos 3:3)Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

(Colossians 1:20-22)And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight:--(Ephesians 2:13)But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

(Romans 5:10,11)For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His Life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by Whom we have now received the atonement.

(I John 1:3)That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.

(II Corinthians 13:14)The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

The LORD is gracious

The Lord is gracious,
and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
(Psalm 145:8)

The Word for the YEAR--
Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Word for the month--
Psalm 18:30 As for God, His Way is perfect: the Word of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all those that trust in Him.

The Word for the day--
Psalm 5:11 But let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because Thou defendest them: let them also that love Thy Name be joyful in Thee.

Hear this morning's devotional [Prepared by Jonathan Bagster (1813-1872)]

04.21 Morning:

Stand fast in the Lord.

My foot hath held His steps, His way have I kept, and not declined.

The Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not His saints; they are preserved for ever.--The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: He shall preserve thy soul.

The just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.--If they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

If ye continue in My Word, then are ye My disciples indeed.--He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.--Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.--Hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.--He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of Life.
