"House of Mourning"

Ecclesiastes 7:2-4

It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the Living will lay it to his heart. Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.

Matthew 5:4
Blessed
are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

John 11:35
Jesus wept.

Luke 19:41,42
And when He was come near, He beheld the city, and wept over it, saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

Psalm 126 A Song of degrees.
When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing Precious Seed [cp. 1Pet 2:7; Gal 3:16;1; Pet 1:23], shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Acts 20:26-32
Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He hath purchased with His Own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the Word of His Grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an Inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

I Corinthians 5:1,2
It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

James 4:5-10
Do ye think that the Scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.

Joel 2:1-14
Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My Holy Mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the Day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand; A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them. The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run [cp. Rev 9:13-21;19:11-21]. Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness. They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks: neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief. The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: and the Lord shall utter His Voice before His army: for His camp is very great: for He is strong that executeth His Word: for the Day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Therefore also now, saith the
Lord, turn ye even to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: and rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth Him of the evil. Who knoweth if He will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind Him; even a Meat offering and a Drink offering unto the Lord your God?

Psalm 119:129-136 פ PE.Thy Testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them. The entrance of Thy Words giveth Light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for Thy commandments. Look Thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as Thou usest to do unto those that love Thy Name. Order my steps in Thy Word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. Deliver me from the oppression of man: so will I keep Thy precepts. Make Thy Face to shine upon Thy servant; and teach me Thy statutes. Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not Thy Law.

Ezekiel 9:1-7
He cried also in mine ears with a loud Voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand. And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one Man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by His side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar. And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon He was, to the threshold of the house. And He called to the Man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by His side; and the Lord said unto Him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

And to the others He said in mine hearing, Go ye after Him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house. And He said unto them, defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

Jeremiah 16:1-9
The Word of the Lord came also unto me, saying, Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have sons or daughters in this place. For thus saith the Lord concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land; They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth. For thus saith the Lord, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away My peace from this people, saith the Lord, even lovingkindness and mercies. Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them: neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother. Thou shalt not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink.
For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the Voice of the Bridegroom, and the voice of the bride [cp. Rev 18:16-24].

Revelation 21:1-7
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy City, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her Husband. And I heard a great Voice out of Heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away
[Rom 8:22-25]. And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these Words are true and faithful. And He said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give unto him that is athirst of the Fountain of the Water of Life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.

06.06 Evening:

A new and Living Way.

Cain went out from the presence of the Lord.―Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His Face from you.―Without . . . [holiness,] no man shall see the Lord.

I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.―Our Saviour Jesus Christ, . . . hath abolished death, and hath brought Life and immortality to light through the gospel.

The Holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing.―He is our peace, Who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us.―The veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

Strait is the gate, and narrow is the Way, which leadeth unto Life, and few there be that find it.―Thou wilt shew me the path of Life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

(Hebrews 10:20)By a new and Living Way, which He hath consecrated for us, through the Veil, that is to say, His flesh;

(Genesis 4:16)And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.--(Isaiah 59:2)But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His Face from you, that He will not hear.--(Hebrews 12:14)Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

(John 14:6)Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.--(II Timothy 1:10)But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, Who hath abolished death, and hath brought Life and immortality to light through the gospel:

(Hebrews 9:8)The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the Way into the Holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:--(Ephesians 2:14)For He is our peace, Who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; --(Matthew 27:51)And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

(Matthew 7:14)Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the Way, which leadeth unto Life, and few there be that find it.--(Psalm 16:11)Thou wilt shew me the path of Life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

The Lord is gracious

The Lord is gracious,

and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
(Psalm 145:8)

The Word for the YEAR--
Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Word for the month--
Psalm 108:4 For Thy mercy is great above the heavens: and Thy Truth reacheth unto the clouds.

The Word for the day--
II Samuel 24:14 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the Hand of the Lord; for His mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.

06.06 Morning:

He will rest in His love.

The Lord did not set His love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: but because the Lord loved you.―We love Him, because He first loved us.―You, . . . hath he reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.―God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Lo a Voice from Heaven, saying, This is My Beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased.―Therefore doth My Father love Me, because I lay down My Life, that I might take it again.―His Son, . . . Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express Image of His person, and upholding all things by the Word of His Power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on High.
