The LORD is gracious

The Lord is gracious,
and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
(Psalm 145:8)

The Word for the YEAR--
Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Word for the month--
Psalm 18:30 As for God, His Way is perfect: the Word of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all those that trust in Him.

The Word for the day--
Isaiah 12:2,3 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

Here is a some context--

Isaiah 11:16-12:1-6 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that He came up out of the land of Egypt [compare Mt 2:11-15]. And in that day Thou shalt say, O Lord, I will praise Thee: though Thou wast angry with Me [compare Ps 22], Thine anger is turned away, and Thou comfortedst Me [compare Isa 40]. Behold, God is My salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is My strength and My song; He also is become My salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation [compare Ps 36:5-10; Rev 22:1,17].

And in that day shall ye say, Praise the Lord, call upon His Name, declare His doings among the people, make mention that His Name is exalted [compare Ps 145; Ps 45]. Sing unto the Lord; for He hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

Again, the Word for the day--Isaiah 12:2,3 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

Hear this morning's devotional [Prepared by Jonathan Bagster (1813-1872)]

04.22 Morning:

If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord. And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.

God will provide Himself a Lamb for a burnt offering.--Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.--We are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. --A ransom for many.

No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.--I will love them freely.--Son of God, . . .loved me, and gave Himself for me.

He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.-- He hath made us accepted in the Beloved.
