The Lord is gracious

The Lord is gracious,

and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
(Psalm 145:8)

The Word for the YEAR--
Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Word for the month--
Psalm 107:8,9 Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

The Word for the day--
Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Hear this morning's devotional [Prepared by Jonathan Bagster (1813-1872)]

05.06 Morning:

Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

A just God and a Saviour.

The Lord is well pleased for His righteousness' sake; He will magnify the Law, and make it honourable.

God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them.―Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through Faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that He might be Just, and the Justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.―He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.―Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.―To him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, His Faith is counted for righteousness.
