The LORD is gracious

The Lord is gracious,

and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
(Psalm 145:8)

The Word for the YEAR--
Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Word for the month--
Psalm 108:4 For Thy mercy is great above the heavens: and Thy Truth reacheth unto the clouds.

The Word for the day--
Psalm 68:34 Ascribe ye strength unto God: His excellency is over Israel, and His strength is in the clouds.

Hear this morning's devotional [Prepared by Jonathan Bagster (1813-1872)]

06.19 Morning:

Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.―There shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth.―There is no spot in thee.

Ye shall be Holy: for I the Lord your God am Holy.―As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: but as He which hath called you is Holy, so be ye Holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye Holy; for I am Holy. And if ye call on the Father, Who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear.―Put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and . . . put on the New Man, which after God is created in Righteousness and true holiness.―He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be Holy and without blame before Him in love.
