The LORD is gracious

The Lord is gracious,

and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
(Psalm 145:8)

The Word for the YEAR--
Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Word for the month--
Psalm 18:30 As for God, His Way is perfect: the Word of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all those that trust in Him.

The Word for the day--
Psalm 119:114 Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in Thy Word.

Here is the immediate context--

Psalm 119:113-120

SAMECH.
I hate vain thoughts: but Thy Law do I love. Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in Thy Word. Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God.

Uphold me according unto Thy Word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope. Hold Thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto Thy statutes continually.

Thou hast trodden down all them that err from Thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood. Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross: therefore I love Thy testimonies. My flesh trembleth for fear of Thee; and I am afraid of Thy judgments.

Again, the Word for the day--Psalm 119:114 Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in Thy Word.

Hear this morning's devotional [Prepared by Jonathan Bagster (1813-1872)]

04.18 Morning:

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee.

I [Moses] stood between the Lord and you at that time, to shew you the Word of the Lord: for ye were afraid.--For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus;

Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.--Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.--Let this Mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a Servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

And Moses verily was faithful in all His house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; but Christ as a Son over His Own house; Whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

De 18:18 5:5 1Ti 2:5 Nu 12:3 Mt 11:29 Php 2:5-7 Heb 3:5,6
